Trouble can be warded away with effective blinking.
A blinker can do this for you;
– creates more space around you while also diminishing danger to you;
– relaxes you because you feel far less pressured from those behind you;
– allows others behind you to plan their moves. This makes you, in their perspective, an enlightened driver.
– contributes to maintaining a safer experience for both you and those driving in your vicinity. You are a creator of safety.
Earlier, longer.
Earlier and longer blinkers are very, very effective! When blinking, you are appealing to distracted drivers. All drivers are distracted to some degree. And today, well, there probably has never been an era of more distracted driving. Other drivers need more time, thus earlier and longer blinkers, to notice and for the brain to process what the blinker means.
Longer blinkers increase the chances that those distracted divers will notice the blinker..at least out of the corner of their eye. Cognitively, a longer blinker more readily registers with people whose minds are on something other than your progress.
Better to err on the side of a longer blinker than to have a shorter blinker.
